Rowden has won the Army Technology Excellence Product Launch Award in the Electronic Warfare category for their RF decoy solution, a new system that provides land forces with a scalable tool for deception and force protection.
While airborne and maritime platforms have long benefited from advanced decoy technologies, investment in the land domain has lagged behind. Existing systems for ground forces have often proven complex to use or limited in deployment. This leaves units without a practical, scalable way to impose friction on adversary ISR and targeting cycles.
Mimic was designed to address that shortfall. Compact and adaptable, it offers land forces a way to introduce credible uncertainty on the battlefield, providing operators with an accessible deception tool that can be deployed in large numbers at the tactical edge.
Mimic was built for ease of use, with most soldiers able to reach proficiency in under two hours using a simple browser-based UI. Its design means it can be deployed quickly and flexibly across a variety of operational scenarios without placing an additional burden on frontline personnel.
Mimic is the first product in Rowden’s Magos family of affordable sensing and communications systems. Its modular architecture ensures it can adapt and evolve as new requirements emerge, providing a foundation for future development. Rowden’s 20,000 sq ft facility in Bristol now supports production at scale, using a secure UK supply chain and in-house design capability.
01/01
We built this capability to answer an immediate need for a practical ground decoy, and we’re proud it was developed so quickly by our team. We see it as the start of a broader family of systems, designed and built here in the UK, that will give frontline forces new options for deception and protection in contested environments.
